- An Alliance of a group of Hitwicket teams forming a symbiotic association in order to reap shared benefits due to mutual actions. The purpose of an Alliance would be to form a group which is more than the sum of its parts. It is aimed at increasing social interactions among managers leading to mutual development. We have aimed the feature to also be used as a Launchpad for new managers where they can learn more about the game and show immense management skill very early in their Hitwicket career.
- The manager who starts an Alliance will be known as the ‘Founder’ of the Alliance. To start an Alliance, a manager has to have minimum Exemplary reputation. The one-time fee to start an Alliance is ₹5 million which is to be borne by the Founder. The Founder would receive a one-time reward of 100 Manager Reputation Points (MRP) when the Alliance is formed. An Alliance would be formed out of 11 member teams. Out of those 11 teams, 7 would be long term members known as ‘Veterans’ while the other 4 would be short term members known as ‘Debutants’.
- Newly registered users will be assigned their place randomly in an Alliance as Debutants by the Hitwicket team after they have completed the tutorial, subject to availability of space across Alliances. Debutants will spend 4 weeks or 28 days in an Alliance.
• An Alliance will be composed of 7 managers - 1 Founder and 6 Members and 0 Debutants :)
• Alliances which have already formed will stay as they are. The Debutants from those Alliances will be removed automatically by us.
• The foundation fee for an Alliance has been removed. All existing Alliance founders will be refunded their Alliance Foundation Fee of 5 million.
• At the start of every season, the Founder needs to pay a renewal fee of 1 million to compete with other Alliances in that Alliance season. This renewal fee is expected to reduce the barrier for creating new alliances and also ensuring that inactive alliances close down.
• The reshuffling period for an Alliance, when the members can resign from an Alliance as well as when the Founder can remove other members from the Alliance starts from Sunday 6 pm and ends at Monday 2 pm
Alliance Series
1. Every Alliance can play one Alliance v/s Alliance series per week.
2. The opponent Alliance will be chosen by Hitwicket.
3. Each match will contain 14 matches - 7 home and 7 away for each Alliance.
4. The opponents for the Alliance v/s Alliance series will be declared at Monday 2 pm. If the Alliance is unable to fill its quota of teams within the deadline, the empty slots will be replaced by Bot teams.
5. Every Alliance member gets to choose against whom he will play his home match. The deadline for choosing a home match and borrowing an Ace Player is Thursday 2 pm.
6. One of the Alliances will play their home matches on Saturday 2 pm and the other will play their home matches on Sunday 2 pm
7. Each match victory will give the alliance 2 points. A bonus point can be earned per match if the match is won by a significant margin as follows:
a. If target is chased down in less than 15 overs with more than 4 wickets remaining
b. If opponent is restricted to less than 60% of the first innings score
8. Therefore, a total of 42 victory points are up for grabs in a series. In case of a team receiving a bye, it will receive both match win points as well as bonus point.
9. Ranking of each Alliance is calculated on the basis of number of series won, number of victory points, number of matches won.
10. Pairings for the next week's match will be done by Hitwicket between closest competitors in the Alliance Points Table.
The Ace Player
• Every team can borrow one player from any of his Alliance members only for Alliance v/s Alliance series. This player will be known as his Ace Player.
• The Ace Player can play for both teams (borrower and owner) in the Alliance v/s Alliance series.
• A team can have only one Ace Player for an Alliance v/s Alliance series.
• Please note that the Loan Player is separate from the Ace Player. The Loan Player feature will continue the way it was running. The Loan Player, however, will not be able to play in the Alliance v/s Alliance series.
Alliance Bank
• Alliance Bank is used to store prize money and MRP earned by the Alliance which can then be distributed by the Founder for the Alliance.
• The maximum prize money a team can receive is 50% of the bank.
• The distribution can be done anytime by the founder, however, he always has to distribute the full bank amount at a time without leaving any balance in the bank.
Series Winning Prizes
• Victory Bonus - 1 million and 200 MRP to the Alliance (To be distributed by the founder to members).
• For every Bot team present in an Alliance, the Alliance loses 200K and 40 MRP from its Victory Bonus.
• 250K amount to the Founder for winning a series
Divisions
We have seen that there are managers in Hitwicket who want to team up with strong teams and become the Top Alliance in Hitwicket. There are others who want to ally with their friends and enjoy the game. There are some who want to train new users and build a legacy of graduates, which was evident from the academy feature.
The Alliances in Hitwicket will be divided into two divisions:
Elite Division -
• Founders need to be of minimum Remarkable reputation.
• No restriction on reputation of members.
We expect the experienced managers to come together and fight for ultimate Alliance glory in this division.
Rising Division -
• Founders need to be of minimum Remarkable reputation.
• All members of the Alliance apart from the Founder have to be less than 6 months old in Hitwicket at the start of the season. (Thus, for an Alliance to be a part of Rising division in Season 15, all its members apart from the founder need to have joined Hitwicket after 9th September, 2014.)
Hence, newer managers can come together here and have a realistic chance of competing and winning, as they don't have to face Elite Alliances. Also, those managers who prefer to be absolute Leaders can choose to be a part of this by leading a bunch of green managers.
The Season Championship
One Alliance from each division will get the right to call itself the Alliance Champions of the Season. But they would have to go through and win the Season Championship Tournament to do so.
In the season break, top 32 alliances in each division will vie for their division title in a Knockout Championship with the winner being crowned the champion of that division.
In this Championship, Alliances will play each other with their All Star teams, i.e., best line-up of 11 players selected within their alliance by the Founder (minimum 1 player and max 2 from from each team).
Championship Prizes
• Reaching Pre-Quarter Finals - 2 million and 400 MRP
• Reaching Quarter Finals - 3 million and 600 MRP
• Reaching Semi Finals - 5 million and 1000 MRP
• Runner-up - 10 million and 2000 MRP
• Champion - 20 million and 4000 MRP
Addendum: Switching alliances will only be possible in the first half of the season, i.e., first 5 weeks.
